Two Accidents Leave Two People Injured

Two accidents occurred on Monday [Jan.23], leaving two people with injuries.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 5pm on Monday January 23rd, police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision near the junction of Mangrove Bay Road and Ferry Lane in Sandys. It appears that a motorcycle was travelling along Mangrove Bay Road when it collided with a sidewalk.

“The rider, a 66 year old Sandys man was injured and conveyed to KEMH via ambulance. At last check he was in stable condition on a general ward.

“Around 8:15pm on Monday January 23rd, police responded to a reported collision at the junction of Middle Road and Garthowen Road in Devonshire. It appears that a car and a motorcycle were travelling along Middle Road when they collided at the junction.

“The rider of the motorcycle, an 18 year old Hamilton parish man was injured, however his injuries are not considered serious. The driver, an 83 year old Devonshire man was not injured. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.”
