Two Accidents, Two DUI Arrests
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after crashing their vehicles into stationary objects; a parked car in Warwick and a sidewalk on Front Street.
Around 12:35am this morning [Jan.27] police responded to a report of an accident in which a motorcycle was travelling along Front Street when it collided with a sidewalk near the junction with Fagans Alley.
When police arrived they found the rider, a 36 year old Warwick man, nearby. He was taken to the hospital via ambulance, treated for relatively minor injuries and subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained in police custody.
In addition, a 34-year-old man was arrested on Thursday evening [Jan.26] after he crashed the van he was driving into a parked car in the Khyber Heights Road, Warwick area.
“There were no reported injuries,” said a police spokesperson. “The driver, a 34 year old Devonshire man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of impaired driving and detained in police custody.”
A court appearance for both men is anticipated in due course
