51-Yr-Old Man Arrested For DUI

A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after he was “unable to negotiate” a round-a-bout, police said.

At 3.15am on Sunday morning [Mar.11] the man was traveling along Trimingham Road on his motorcycle when he crashed into the round-a-bout at the junction, resulting in the motorcycle being extensively damaged, him being treated in hospital for minor injuries and subsequently arrested.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 3:15am on Sunday, March 11th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision at the junction of South Road and Trimingham Road in Paget.

“It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along Trimingham Road when the rider, a 51 year old Paget man, was unable to negotiate the round-a-bout at the junction. As a result the Paget man was injured and the motorcycle was extensively damaged.

“The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be serious and subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.”
