Hundreds of locals came out for a taste of food, glorious food when the Corporation of Hamilton hosted its first ever culinary festival last week.

Participating Hamilton restaurants included Portofino, Lobster Pot, Lemon Tree, Rosa’s Cantina, Chopsticks, Little Venice, L’Oriental, Café 4, La Trattoria, House of India, Victoria Grill, Pickled Onion, Hog Penny and Barracuda Grill.

The event kicked off last Monday [Mar. 19] from 8am until 9am with a complimentary continental breakfast in front of City Hall.

On Thursday [Mar. 22] from 5pm until 8pm there was a Culinary Walk in Chancery Lane. All the businesses were open to serve food with some additional ambience décor and entertainment in the lane. There were be special samples and discounts provided throughout the night.

And on Saturday [Mar. 24] the Food Festival culminated with a special event on Bermudiana Road.

More than a dozen Hamilton restaurants and bars participated, offering a wide variety of foods and specialty drinks at a culinary gala hosted by Bruce Barritt and Bermudian chef and TV personality Joe Gibbons.

    Nice atmosphere, but I was disappointed to find out that you had to pay $10 for an $8 plate of food!
