Public Meeting On #5 Car Park Future

March 22, 2012

The City of Hamilton will host a midday town hall meeting to uncover the public’s views on the future of Number Five Car Park [opposite Butterfield Bank on Front Street]. The meeting will take place at Number Six Shed on Thursday, March 29, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

Mayor of Hamilton Charles Gosling said, “The City of Hamilton is starting a consultative process with the public about the use of Number Five Car Park.

“We have received a number of informal comments on what should be done with the space. Suggestions range from leave it as a car park to turn it into an attractive park and recreational area on the water’s edge.”

“We see this as an opportunity to hear as many views and thoughts as possible, while examining what the requirements would be to make the changes suggested. I invite business owners and managers, together with the residents and workers of Hamilton, to attend the lunchtime meeting to voice their opinions.

“We look forward to hearing the community’s voice as we work to improve the city of Hamilton,” Mayor Gosling concluded.”
