more importantly, did the BPS seize the firearms that were brandished? I want the guns first, people second.

    • Armchair Psychologist says:

Are you kidding? What kind of logic is THAT? It’s much more important to get the PEOPLE first, guns second. First of all, since officials don’t seem to even know for sure how these guns are getting in here, if guns are seized over people, what’s to stop them from getting their hands on another one?

Secondly, since these guys seem to be sociopathic criminals, even if they don’t have a gun they’ll just use a knife, baseball bat or whatever else they can think of in their determination to commit crime. No matter what their choice of weapon, the victim can still end up dead. YES, I know guns are more dangerous but I’m speaking especially in the capacity of a home invasion where it’s just as terrifying and potentially deadly to beheld up at knifepoint as it is by gunpoint.

Remember when there as a time where every time you turned around there was a shooting/murder? These have dropped off because of all the captures and convictions of these murderous individuals-and in many cases the gun wasn’t even recovered. Despite not always getting the gun, simply getting these psychos off the street has had an effect-they can’t commit crime and it’s harder for them to influence others to do so…the remaining gang members are like a bunch of discombobulated ants that scatter when just one is removed from their trail to a trash can!

I don’t discount the importance of getting guns but it’s more important to get people first. Also, since a lot of these guys stash their weapons anyway, if they’re the only one who knows where it is, once you get the person off the street the gun is automatically off the street as well!

BTW-there was one guy who has been arrested and convicted recently. The word on the street was that this guy was doing most of the shootings/killings for his particular gang. Once he was locked up, the shootings went down A LOT. Despite what these gangtas think, a lot of them aren’t competent enough to carry out these crimes. Once you get the ringleaders and the ones who are ‘competent’ (not in a good way, but competent regardless), armed crime will drop.

      GET PEOPLE OVER GUNS!

      • hmph says:

Regarding your first point: Bermuda now knows how some guns and drugs came onto the island using boats. So that should ring alarms to BPS.

To your second point: If these guys cannot use guns and result to bats, knives and so on, that would at least allow us as the public to be on the same level as them. Because if someone broke into my house and I have my machete and they have a knife I have a chance of beating them, however, if they have a gun I stand no chance.

And do you really think only one person knows where these guns are? I’m sure the guns are stashed in places where a few people of the crew know. The crew shares the gun within the gang. Do you really think it is the same person every time? In previous cases, they have found multiple DNAs on the guns. So clearly it is not just one person.

If BPS can get guns off the streets these guys would be lost, because most of them can’t fight! I’ve been to the club plenty of times, guys can’t fight! That’s why they jump people with the rest of their crew because they know they are punks alone!

      • ItIsWhatItIs says:

there is something amiss with your logic. your logic would would work if there were a one-to-one relationship with the gun and the owner. As you will have read in the various Police Statements that the same guns have been used in multiple murders and shooting injuries, despite people having been arrested and imprisoned for firearm offenses. Ergo, if you get these guns off the street by default there are fewer of them to be available shared.

My question is why aren’t these shooters that are convicted kept at her majesty’s pleasure until they disclose where the weapon came from and provide evidence to the BPS to obtain the firearm. Clearly the BPS are catching the shooters but because they are coming up empty handed the shootings continue. GET THE GUNS FIRST, PEOPLE SECOND.

    • Zoey says:

I guess you havent been confronted by idiots such as these at gunpoint with a “real” gun, if you were i’m sure you would think differently. This family has been left frightened for their lives

    • Tommy Chong says:

Guns don’t hurt people. Bad people with guns hurt people. Their have always been guns in Bermuda but there has not always been this many bad people with guns in Bermuda. Give them all a complimentary pair of concrete shoes & a one way boat cruise because psycho like this cannot be rehabilitated & cost us 80,000 a year.

  2. Family Man says:

    Yah BPS!!!!

    Great job.

  3. Rose says:

Well done to the police for getting these two thugs, because if they come to my home and threaten my family. It will be the last thing they do.

    • ItIsWhatItIs says:

If you were living in the US, this situation would be the appropriate time to “Stand Your Ground”.

  4. Concerned says:

Too early to applaud the BPS or the justice system. The police are under fire to arrest so maybe they’ve just brought in any two guys in order to appease the public. Let’s wait until they are convicted and locked away.

RE: Getting the guns or people – get BOTH! Yes, criminals are criminals and they will use any weapon, but let’s face it, having a gun is often what gives these guys the confidence to roam around the island and rob people.

    • Armchair Psychologist says:

Good point about the confidence factor-I can agree with that. Most of these guys are just a bunch of cowards who feel small and powerless unless they have a gun in their hand-then they feel real big. At the end of the day, like I said, they’re just a bunch of cowards.

    Take their “BUTTS” DOWN !

    Tricks are for fools !

  6. Louisville Slugger says:

Those two Hommies come my gates: Curtains.

    • Come correct says:

They should start tagging these thugs like sharks, come to my gates and the thug life won’t be so appealing after, there won’t be much left to identify.

  7. James Goodfellow says:

These people should be disposed of like the trash that they are. Take them round the back and have them shot.

  8. Hmmm! says:

You wanna stop guns from coming in the country, shake customs upside down… Those at the top should be fired and push new blood to the top…

    • Truth is killin' me... says:

Certain Customs Officers should be watched very closely!

  9. Yayo says:

Looks like people in their homes are going to start arming themselves.

  10. Truth is killin' me... says:

    Already have!

  11. Ya Gota B Kiddin says:

My bags r packed!! youall better pack yours!!

    • Come correct says:

So your gonna let these punks scare you out of your home? Only bags I’ll be packing are trashbags with their body parts. Ozzy will love me.

  12. CoolJ's#1Fan says:

@ Concerned…I agree. Guns do equal Confindence. It’s unfortunate for the innocent public. We all knew they would eventually turn on us (the innocent).
Now we have to deal with these little boy wannabe thugs invading our homes!smh

  13. US Observer says:

As long as governmenet officials and the powers that be continue to ignore or turn the other way or are in denial about what is going on or how weapons such as guns entering into Bermuda waters, this “business” will not stop. Obviously there is a system in place where these weapons are making their way onto the streets. The guns are not coming through the airport. I agree…start shaking customs from the top down and bring in people who have no connection or relationship with the receivers such as friends or family. Bermuda is a very small country where everyone knows everyone…someone knows something or has information regarding this. There are people who are in place at the gate but who’s watching them and who’s watching the people who are watching?

  14. Tommy Chong says:

@ enough I know you watch these type of articles closely so here it is.

THANK YOU BPS for catching these guys! I will admit this was a job well done & promptly done at that.

Now please BPS catch the all black everything muggers as I don’t think these guys are them as the don’t fit the description. Please make this a priority over the tit for tat shooters who are only hurting those who have chose to be in a certain lifestyle.

If I saw more articles like this enough I would have no complaints about BPS.

  15. talk de ting says:

i dont kno y u thanking bps! by now they re free walkin round or riding wit their guns lookin for the next target! i believe in street justicet!!!
