Women’s Weekend Hockey Results

This past weekend, four women’s hockey matches took place at the National Sports Center on the North Field grass.

Wildcats 5 Swallows 0

The Wildcats took the lead over the Swallows in the 13th minute when Maria Pichery scored a Field Goal, then Ashley Steede doubled the lead in the 26th minute scoring from a Penalty Corner. A Field Goal in the 44th minute off the stick of Susanna Almeida gave the Wildcats a 3 – 0 lead. Zina Jones made it 4 – 0 to the Wildcats in the 50th minute scoring a Field Goal and then Cerepha Bridgman closed out the scoring for the Wildcats in the 64th minute with a Field Goal.

Longtails 0 Budgies 9

The Budgies defeated the Longtail Canaries 9 – 0 with Amy Fox and Melanie Fullerton both scoring hat-tricks for the Budgies. Fox scored her three goals from Penalty Corners while Fullerton scored a Penalty Corner and two Field Goals. Jaselle Smith, Asha Trott and Alex Francis all added a goal each to the total score.

Canaries 0 Bluebirds 3

The Bluebirds took the lead in the 27th minute when Denise O’Donoghue scored a Field Goal. Kourtney Fassler doubled the lead in the 47th minute also scoring a Field Goal and then Sarah Smith scored a 68th minute Field Goal for the Bluebirds who defeated the Canaries 3 – 0.

Cardinals 0 Ravens 3

The Ravens defeated the Cardinals 3 – 0 in Women’s B Division action at the National Sports Center. Georgia Harris scored from a Penalty Corner in the 25th minute to give the Ravens a 1 – 0 lead. Katie Tester doubled the lead in the 34th minute when she scored a Field Goal. Harris then closed out the scoring with a Field Goal in the 47th minute.
