April 13, 2012

At City Hall yesterday afternoon [Apr.12] four Bermuda teenagers, Berkeley Institute students Patience Lowe (18) and Waverley Moran (16); Somersfield Academy student Camila Papadopoulo (14); and ex-Saltus student Ruggero Barlaba (16), currently in the UK studying for his A-Levels; were the recipients of scholarships from the Bermuda Shakespeare Schools Committee.

These performing arts scholarships are funded by the Argo Foundation which is the philanthropic arm of the Argo Group. The Argo Foundation was represented by awards presenter Ms Anne Mello who said that this was the second year that the Foundation was providing funding for this effort.

Ms Lowe’s scholarship will provide funding for six weeks at the Royal Academy of the Dramatic Arts in London, UK. Ms Papadopoulo is wait-listed for a summer camp at the Shakespeare Festival camp at Stage Door, Marion, NY. Ms Moran is off to Ontario Canada in July of this year for a two week summer camp concentrating on the performing arts.
