DUI: Six People Arrested On Weekend
Over the weekend, police officers arrested 14 people for outstanding warrants and six people on suspicion of impaired driving.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 11:20pm on Sunday May 27th, police officers were on mobile patrol along South Road in Paget when they observed a car travelling erratically. Officers caused the car to stop near the junction with Middle Road.
“Officers approached the driver, a 28 year old Warwick man, who appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
“Around 11:30pm on Friday May 25th, police officers were on mobile patrol along St. David’s Road in St. George’s when they noticed a motorcycle that was travelling erratically.
“Officers caused the motorcycle to stop near the junction with Stocks Road. Officers approached the rider, a 41 year old Warwick man, who appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.”
Police also conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
