Six People Arrested For Impaired Driving
Six people were arrested for driving whilst impaired over the weekend with at least two of them involved in road traffic collisions.
A police spokesperson said, “Troublingly, six people were arrested for driving whilst impaired over the weekend with at least two of them involved in road traffic collisions.
“One person recorded a minimum reading of 300 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood. Remember now, the legal limit is 80 milligrams in 100 milliliters.
“It was one offender’s third time being arrested for driving while impaired. Yes you read right, their third time.
“Thankfully, no one was seriously injured, or worse in any of these incidents.
“This irresponsible behaviour is based on personal decision and what can only be described as a lack of concern for the safety and well being of other road users.
“We will remain vigilant and continue enforcement measures against this practice, but that will not be enough.
“Individuals must take responsibility for their behaviour and the decisions they make in operating a vehicle after having been drinking or having used any other mind altering substance, prescribed or otherwise.”
You want to drink? – that’s your personal choice and you handle your own personal consequences but DO NOT bring your impaired selves and poor decisions into my space where you endanger the lives of me my family and friends and all other people who are minding their own business living their own lives. ZERO tolerance….NO MORE DRIVERS LISENCE FOR YOU..EVER. Until we do something that actually has some significant consequence on the offending individuals then this will continue, accidents, injury and deaths. WILL THE ONES WITH THE POWER please make the decision and just do it….Driving is a privilege not a right…you abuse it, you lose it. End of story.
I agree, however there will still be people out there who will continue to drive without a license. Its sad that they chose to put peoples lives at risk…..
Well the people in power are doing the exact same thing so I’m sure they wouldn’t discipline themselves.
