Bulk Carrier Diverts For Sick Crew Member
Bermuda Harbour Radio was contacted on Friday [June 29] by agents for the bulk carrier “Phoenix Beauty” and informed that the ship was diverting to Bermuda to discharge a sick crew member.
The Panamanian registered ship, on route from Port Louis, Maritius made its way to the island and met with the pilot boat St David this morning.
The crew member, a 55-year-old Indian national, was transferred to Ordnance Island in St George’s and conveyed to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment. The ship then continued on its journey.
