Kerri Furbert Signs With University of Missouri
Kerri Furbert, a graduate from Warwick Academy, has recently signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Missouri [Mizzou Tigers] and to compete for their Track and Field Team for the Fall Semester 2012.
A BTFA spokesperson said, “Kerri has had a long history in Track and Field. As a youngster she was prominent in Cross Country and Middle Distance. “Mr. Streete-Thompson holds personal-best marks of 9.96 in the 100m dash and 8.63m (28-3 ¾) in the long jump and is the only person other than Carl Lewis to jump over 28 feet and run under ten seconds.
“Being no stranger to Bermuda Athletes Mr. Streete-Thompson competed against Mr. Wellman, Mr. Devon Bean and others from his childhood years, throughout Carifta Games and University.
“The Mizzou Tigers have recently joined the SEC (South East Conference) and will be competing against legendary Universities such as Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana State, Mississippi, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Vanderbuilt.
