Twelve Students To Graduate From C.A.R.E

June 18, 2012

On Thursday, 21st June 2012 at the St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 12 students will be graduating receiving their G.E.Ds. In addition to the graduates, students of C.A.R.E. will also receive prizes for their attendance during the school term.

This year’s ceremony will highlight the success of two new programmes – a pilot programme with the Ministry of Health and the Adopt-A-Student programme. Last year’s success of the pilot programme with the Ministries of Public Works and Government Estates and Information Services has seen approximately 12 employees graduate with their high school diplomas from the inception of the programme in 2010.

C.A.R.E will acknowledge the recipients of the highest scores obtained on the G.E.D. test taken locally at the Bermuda College, and six of the students will be receiving recognition for this achievement. There will also be a Community Service Award presented to an individual in the community and other special awards.

The ceremony begins at 12:30 p.m. and CA.R.E. Learning Centre invites the community to support this event highlighting the success of our young people and the positive roles that our young people and adults are achieving. There will be words of encouragement from the Rev. Dr. Lanel D. Guyton, pastor of St. Paul A.M.E. Church.

@ BERNEWS – a GED ceremony was also held @ the Southampton SDA Church this past Saturday, June 16th, 2012 with 12 graduates. It would be good to also see a report on that GED and any other GED graduation ceremonies and results of their exams Island-wide.

Congrats to all the graduates Class of 2012!
