Herring & Robinson Win AON Triathlon

Jonathan Herring and Kristyn Robinson are the male and female AON Triathlon Champions following Bermuda Triathlon Association action on Sunday [July 1] at Southside, St David’s.

Herring came out of the water first in a time of 10:19 and had the second fastest bike course time of 32:24. Herring then held off all challengers when he covered the run course with the second fastest time of 19:27 and achieved an overall time of 1:03:08. Neil De Ste Croix finished second clocking a time of 1:05:35 and Kent Richardson finished third in a time of 1:07:31.

Robinson, the fourth finisher overall, was ninth out of the water clocking 12:25. She then had the 4th fastest bike course time of 33:32 and the fifth fastest run course time of 21:00 amassing an overall time of 1:08:13. Laura Norman was the second female finisher clocking a time of 1:18:01 and finishing 22nd overall. Emma O’Connell rounded out the top three female finishers clocking 1:18:36, finishing 27th overall.

Dennis Joell won the Try-A-Tri event clocking a time of 22:47. Caroline Layzell was the first female finisher clocking 23:49 and crossed the line second. Placing third was the second female finisher Corinne Peach who clocked 23:56.

The team of Graham Smith, Dominique Mayho and Tucker Murphy ran away with the Open Team Event clocking 1:01:02. Gabriella Arnold, Greg Hopkins and Karen Smith finished second with a time of 1:09:04, while Roger Todd, Mtume Hart and Omari Hart finished third clocking 1:10:36.
