Jonte Smith Scores For Crawley Town F.C.

July 14, 2012

18-year-old Bermudian Jonte Smith scored his first goal as a professional today [July 14], helping propel his U.K. football team to a 3 – 2 win over Bromley in a pre-season friendly.

Smith, the son of well known cricketer Clay Smith, signed with the Crawley Town Football Club in April of this year. Prior to moving to the U.K, Smith played locally for North Village and internationally for Bermuda at the U/17 level.

Crawley beat Bromley 3-2 in their second pre-season friendly. Following a goalless first half which saw the goalkeeper saved a penalty, Crawley’s Nicky Adams scored to put the score at 1 – 0, before Jonte Smith made it 2 – 0, and the game went on to end 3 – 2.
