Man Charged With Stealing $6 From Tip Jar
20-year-old Akiri Trott pleaded not guilty this morning [July 9] to a charge of theft said to have occurred at Foxy’s Cafe on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s Parish.
The total value involved was $6, which was said to have been taken from the cafe’s ‘tip jar’ and said to have taken place on 6th July 2012.
Taking a previous matter into account, Senior Magistrate Archie Warner granted Mr Trott bail of $2,000 with one like Surety; and ordered that he must wear an electronic monitoring device that restricts him to his residence twenty-four hours a day.

Did you all read the whole article? It says “taking a previous matter into account” the Magistrate made that ruling. He obviously has had prior run ins with the law, hence that decision. It was not based on stealing six dollars alone….
