U/17 Football Team Defeat Antigua & Barbuda

Bermuda won their second game of the Under 17 World Cup Qualifying Tournament on Friday [July 13] in Kingston, Jamaica, defeating Antigua and Barbuda 2-1.

Bermuda’s starting line up included Detre Bell, Zaire Burchall, Terrence Webb, David Jones, Trey Tucker, Tah-mi Williams, Machi Battersbee, Ras Stafari Burrows, Omari Curtis, Jibri Salaam, Jaz Ratteray Smith. Substitutes: Alanzo Parsons, Nacori Smith, Rai Simons, Jahquill Hill, Marlon Burgess, Aiyetoro Hinds and Giacomo Ricciadi.

Bermuda went ahead in the 13th minute when Ras Stafari Burrows scored before all floodlights in the stadium went off in the 43rd minute.

Following an hour delay, the lights were back on and the teams concluded the three remaining minutes of the first half. The game was level in the 53rd minute when Jevon Stevens scored for Antigua and Barbuda.

Bermuda went back in front when Burrows scored his second goal of the game in the 68th minute, but two minutes later the lights went out again with the outage lasting another 30 minutes.

The game resumed with no further goals, and Bermuda came out on top 2-1.
