Olympic Basketball: Great Britain Lose To Russia
Jenaya Wade Fray and her Great Britain Women’s Olympic Basketball team were back in action during the Olympics today [Aug 1] losing to Russia.
Great Britain were down 16-14 at the end of the first quarter, and during the second quarter Russia outscored Great Britain 23 – 13 to take a half time lead of 39-27.
In the third quarter Great Britain came out on fire in the scoring 18 points and giving up only 13 to pull within seven points with one quarter to play. Great Britain outscored Russia in the final quarter by one point 16 – 15, but that was not enough and they lost 67 – 61.
Great Britain has a 0-3 record thus far in the Olympic, having lost to both Australia and Canada already. Wade-Fray made her Olympic debut in the game against Canada, with her appearance marking the first time a Bermudian basketball player has competed in the Olympics.

Wade Fray played a total of 1 minute and 13 seconds in the game. The 23-year-old played basketball for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga [UTC] where she racked up a number of awards.
She was also named the Bermuda Female Athlete.of the Year last year, and presently plays professional basketball in the United Kingdom.
