Accident: Tourist In Hospital After Striking Wall

A 55-year-old American visitor is in hospital after crashing her rental cycle into a wall on Harbour Road yesterday [Sept 12].

A police spokesperson said: “Around 3:30pm on Wednesday, September 12th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision on Harbour Road in Paget near the junction with Stowe Hill. It appears that a female visitor to the island was riding a rental cycle along Harbour Road when the rental cycle collided with a wall.

“As a result the rider, a 55 year old American woman, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check she was in stable condition on a general ward. Inquiries into this incident are underway.”
