A spokesperson said, “If you ever wanted to start your own business or be your own boss, this is the workshop for you.
“Bermuda Economic Development Corporation’s Business Development Officer, Jamillah Lodge will facilitate this workshop and will moderate a panel of successful young entrepreneurs including Patrice Morgan, Editor and Chief of Showoff and Teen Showoff Magazine and David Zuill, co-owner of Davidrose Jewelry will be panelist at the event.
“Showoff is an entertainment magazine geared specifically towards Bermuda’s young people. Patrice, who initially studied business at Clark University switched to fashion design and merchandising after two years.
“Having spent a semester in France she was surprised to learn the Parisians weren’t as fashion focused as she assumed. When she completed her studies and returned home Patrice developed the idea for the magazine while working as a substitute teacher; the rest is history.
“Davidrose, a conscious luxury jewelery boutique, offers its clients hand-crafted bridal and statement pieces. Conceptualized in 2009 the company has been designing bridal and statement pieces for clients for the past 4 years.
“The panel will provide attendees with real life examples and feedback regarding starting a small business. This workshop will be held at the Chamber of Commerce, at Front St Hamilton [Albouys Point] from 10.30am until 12.30pm.”
There will be drinks and light refreshments available. To RSVP contact Velina Wheatley at vwheatley@bcc.bm or 295.8932.
