Police Identify Collision Victim: Aaron Smith

The Bermuda Police Service has identified the man who passed away yesterday [Sept 18] due to injuries sustained in an accident as 45-year-old Aaron Smith.

A police spokesperson said: “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 45 year old Aaron Smith of St. George’s.

“Around 2:20pm on Tuesday, September 18th Mr. Smith was riding a motorcycle along North Shore Road in Devonshire near the junction with Cable Hill when a collision occurred with a car at the entrance of Terceira’s gas station.

“Mr. Smith was seriously injured as a result and received CPR at the scene before being taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he was subsequently pronounced dead at 2:52pm that day by an on call doctor. The two occupants of the car were not injured.

“The investigation into this fatal collision is ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Timothy Evelyn at the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.

“The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of Mr. Smith. The death of Aaron Smith marks the eighth road fatality for 2012.”
