Police Statement: Death Of 60-Year-Old Visitor
Emergency Service personnel attended a medical emergency near King’s Square in St. George’s yesterday [Sept 19] after a 60-year-old American man collapsed.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 2:30pm on Wednesday, September 19th police and first responders attended a reported medical emergency near King’s Square in St. George’s.
“It appears that the victim, a 60 year old American man, had collapsed. The visitor was given CPR at the scene by members of the public before being taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead by an on call doctor.
“There does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances; however an autopsy is anticipated in due course. No further details regarding the deceased will be given at this time until the next of kin has been notified. Inquiries into this sudden death are ongoing.
