Women’s & Men’s Weekend Hockey Results

The Ravens defeated the Cardinals 6-1 in women’s hockey action this past weekend, while the Polecats defeated the Upstarts 7-3 in the men’s division.

Women’s Division: Ravens 6 Cardinals 1

The Ravens went in front in the 9th minute when Megan Troake scored a Field Goal, the Cardinals drew level in the 11th minute with a Field Goal off the stick of Liz Copeland. Georgia Harris put the Ravens back in front two minutes later with a Field Goal, and then Troake scored her second goal of the game in the 15th minute converting from a Penalty Corner.

Troake completed her hat-trick with a Field Goal in the 29th minute as the Ravens went ahead 4 – 1. Kristen Morbey extended the Ravens lead to 5 – 1 in the 39th minute with a Field Goal and the Harris closed out the scoring in the 49th minute scoring from a Penalty Corner.

Men’s Division: Polecats 7 Upstarts 3

The Polecats got four goals from Nigel Deane that included a 17th minute Penalty Stroke, a 43rd minute Penalty Corner, and Field Goals in the 49th and 55th minutes, and they got hat-trick from Shannon Simons who scored 47th and 59th minute Field Goals and a 67th minute Penalty Corner.

Steve Miles scored two Field Goals for the Upstarts in the 28th and 29th minutes, and they also got a Field Goal off the stick of Tyler Smith in the 32nd minute as the Polecats defeated the Upstarts 7 – 3.
