Local Designer Accepted At NY Fashion Week

René Hill Originals Collection will be featured in the Small Boutique Fashion Week during the Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week in February, 2013.

René Hill said: “Emily’s Fair Trade Co. Ltd., incorporated in 2010, is ecstatic about the news that René Hill Originals was accepted as a participant in the Small Boutique Fashion Week (SBFW), which takes place during the Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week next February.

“We received confirmation recently from the organizers of the event and I am incredibly excited that our collection was accepted in this prestigious show for emerging designers. The Small Boutique Fashion Week’s aim is to launch emerging bdesigners’ careers, and is sponsored by American television channel CBS2.”

Ms. Hill continued, “I applied on the advice of a Bermudian designer and a few days later received an email requesting my portfolio. Before I could send it, the organisers, who had visited my website, sent an email saying they were sufficiently impressed with our current collection and that we were accepted to participate in the SBFW 2013 show.”

The René Hill Originals’ collection blends modern fashions with a nod to old world charm. It encompasses all fair/direct trade practices, creates handmade scarves to wrap up in, modern kilts, Bermuda Cedar handle purses and silver jewellery.

Ms. Hill concluded, “I look forward to participating in this prestigious fashion event and continuing to share my collection with the world.”
