Two Men Charged: Murder Of George Lynch
Two men were charged in Magistrates Court this morning [Jan 14] with the murder of George Lynch in 2010.
Wolde Gardner [33 - pictured] and Rickai Dickinson [28] were both charged with the murder of Mr Lynch, and with using a firearm to commit an indictable offense.
As the charges can only be heard in the Supreme Court, neither was not required to enter a plea and both were remanded in custody. Charles Richardson represented Dickinson, while Larry Mussenden represented Gardner.
Mr Lynch was shot and killed while standing outside a Midland Heights Crescent, Hamilton Parish home in May 2010.
A police statement after the shooting said: “At 10:27pm last night [Wednesday, 5th May 2010)[Police Officers responded to a report of a man being conveyed to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in a private car, allegedly suffering from a gunshot wound.
“It was ascertained that the victim had been shot whilst standing outside a private residence at #21 Midland Heights, Hamilton Parish. Mr. Lynch had been in the company of two other men at that time.”

Assuming that the police are always correct is just as dangerous. We have to be a little bit more reliant on our own common sense sometimes. In a community of so much “he said, she said” I am positive that people are guilty until proven innocent and that is unfair. Do I have sympathy for the family of the victims? Yes, but my sympathy is not going to cause me to race to judgement about anybody or anything until all the evidence has been presented. I would much rather be sure that these are the real perpetrators than give a false sense of security to the community and families, when for all we know the real perpetrator is still out there. Also, pressing charges doesn’t mean anything, the prosecution still needs to prove its case, and we all know how inconsistent that can be.

In Bermuda, when you die, you become a saint, no matter what life you used to lead before. The sad reality about some of these gun murder cases, is that the same people who have been executed like animals, have executed others like animals too. So put it all into context before everyone shoots off at the mouth (or fingers). I am by no means talking about Mr. Lynch or any other innocent casualties to this lifestyle, but those who are actively participating in this lifestyle expecting a different result.

It’s just ridiculous looking at the comments people leave on any matter regarding criminal activity. People need to just mind their own business & let destiny runs it’s course. Let the police, judge, & jury do their job respectively. You people seem to forget everyday citizens like you deliver the verdict in the end in these cases, so its clear that we as a whole we are giving the (equal) citzens a chance to prove their innocence & if not convincing then proving them guilty. I’m not in any way or form condoning these crimes but some of you bloggers are just outright nasty & disrespecful. It just goes to show how many rotten souls we have on this island that are cowardly hiding behind the wall of technology. Its been disturbing to read the awful posts put on here both verbally attacking my son and those who have posted in support of him. It is good to see that not everybody is so quick to judge. All I can do is love and support my son as I’m sure anyone else would do! Even those who have so much to say right now. This is a very sad, sad day as I have read just about each blog that’s blogging. We have come to a very serious cross road in our society since we lost our first victim to gun slinging. Some of prehaps knew whom the culprit(s) was or is n instead of doing the right thing, some of you hushed up n allowed this to fester n spread because we all have this common place thing called denial n it is none of my business. By ignoring the issues at that time, we now have to come to terms that we can’t ignore it any longer as it has spread like wild fire. Many of you know prehaps as to why these murders are happening n if we ALL don’t come out of denial n be for real, then we are truly sending the absolute wrong message to our youth that has not yet experience the thug life but will if we DO NOT redirect them. So while all the blogs are coming in, remember some of these younger children can read better n understand better than some of these out of control gunslinging hooligans. While so many choose to cramp others that choose to follow GOD’s way; prehaps if u would have stopped smoking ‘collie in a bush’ n took those children to Sunday school, they would not be of the chain n caught up like they are with no respects for themselves, let alone anyone else. I used to chat with him all de while at kemh.. he was a cool guy.. the last conversation I had with George he was telling me about dudus in tivoli gardens how Dudus was the Don.. he told me how he was thankful to God for making it out Alive n never dying from gunshots..less then two weeks later after we had that conversation he got shot..the irony of life.. he didn’t deserve that.. I know Wolde to..my boy.. grew up together.. nuff memories..n Kai my Cuz.. used to come check me at my bedroom window.. all I know is this is a tragic situation where many lives are devastated now.. it’s so senseless and messed up.. all three of these guys were my friends n family.. this sucks..George R.I.P. my friend..
