Two Teenagers Injured In Motorcycle Accident

Two teenagers were injured in a motorcycle accident on Sound View Road in Sandys parish about 30 minutes into the New year. The 18-year-old rider is presently recovering on a general ward.

A police statement said: “Around 12:20am on Tuesday, January 1st 2013 police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle auxiliary cycle collision on Sound View Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Saltsea Lane. It appears that the auxiliary cycle collided with a utility pole.

“The rider, an 18 year old Sandys parish man and his pillion passenger, a 15 year old Sandys parish male, were injured as a result. Apparently both victims were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check the rider was recovering on a general ward. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.”
