Well I can honestly say. About 12 years ago, I rode of that hill leading to the roundabout from the Palmetto Road side doing about a great big 2 mph, bike barely moving. Next thing a**, feet up, the bike and I both heading towards the roundabout!! A young man who was coming along North Shore going East, stopped to ask me what happened. He said you were coming so slow, I’m trying to figure out what could you have possibly done wrong. I said absolutely nothing but take my time. Up until this day, I don’t know why I ended up on the ground. I vowed, I would never, ever come off that hill again on a bike again. And I have kept that promise. I still have scars to show in remembrance, not to ever, ever ride of either of those 2 hills going in the direction of that roundabout. I whole heartedly agree with “Bermuda Shorts.”

  8. Lots of prayers for you uncle. Hold up family. Positive thoughts and prayers gives positive results.

  9. Rea W says:

It is something about that hill, oil, rain, dry still accidents occur maybe they need to look into it

    • Micro says:

The problem with that hill is that it needs to be a stop and not a giveway. The majority of collisions is due to people glancing to the right halfway down and not seeing anything coming instead of slowing down and looking properly.

Same with the new layout at Wilkinson Avenue and Blue Hole Hill.

Somebody is going to complain about what I have to say but too damn bad. I have been going off that hill for close to 40 years. Riding or driving just about every type of vehicle on Bermudas road. And I don’t see anything dangerous about it. WHY? My approach to the round about starts at the top of the hill. Not at the bottom. I start my deceleration at the top so if there is a need for me to stop I can do so safely. A few years back when I used to drive the public bus. I was due to turn right at the round about and carry on down North Shore. I noticed a lady with a little child standing in front of her on the scooter. Something that too many stupid bermudians do with their children. Even though I had the right away knowing full well that she wasn’t going to stop. I stopped and when she passed in front of the bus there wasn’t even 2 feet between the 2vehicles. Not a dangerous spo just dangerous road users.
