Free Open House At BUEI On Saturday

March 22, 2013

The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] will be holding a free open house on Saturday [Mar. 23].

From 1-4pm, the East Broadway facility’s education department will be engaging the public in live presentations to demonstrate what BUEI camp attendees do in their labs.

BUEI’s educational camps, for 7-13 year olds, include hands-on activities, experiments, specimens, interactive computer learning, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, play-acting and competitions.

The camps are mainly science in nature, but incorporate other disciplines and emphasise the role Bermuda plays in these areas where relevant.

The programmes integrate literacy and numeracy, and are designed to inform, motivate and excite children.

“To all the kids — dress up in your Wacky Scientist Costume and win a fun prize!” said a BUEI spokesman. “See you this Saturday!”
