EEEZ To Hold Seminar For Retailers, Vendors

March 25, 2013

On Tuesday March 26th 2013 the Economic Empowerment Zones Agency [EEZA] will be hosting a seminar for retailers and vendors aimed at giving them tips and strategies on how to take their businesses to the next level even in these challenging economic times.

New Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC], Mr. Nicholas Kempe, will be on hand to give the opening welcome. Panellists will consist of Mr. Tony Thompson and Ms. Torri Simons of Gibbons Company, Amir X owner of The GINO Group, Ms. Jan Quinn owner of The Lost Treasure, and Ms. Kelly Thompson of Saltwater Jewellery.

The presentations and discussions will focus on such important topics for retailers as customer service, customer generation and retention, merchandising, display enhancement, vendor management, and vendor merchandising. There will also be displays by vendors such as Ms. Dazzarrie Steede, which will show live examples of merchandise display.

Ms. Roxanne Christopher, the North East Hamilton EEZ Economic Development Officer, and organiser for the seminar, is excited to be able to provide this event at this time.

She states: “With consumers tightening their belts with regards to how they spend their dollars, it makes sense for us to focus on the retail and vendor sector. If a retailer can create a buzz around their business it helps it to stand out from its competitors.

“But it also needs good customer service to keep customers coming back time and time again. This seminar is very timely as it provides tangible strategies on how to achieve these things from those who have already done it!”

The seminar will be held at the Bermuda Industrial Union on Union Street in Hamilton from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm this Tuesday. To register in advance please email info@bedc.bm. Registration is free and light refreshments will be served. Walk-ins are also welcome. For more information please contact 292-5570.
