Russell Could Make Ilkeston Debut Tonight

russellBermuda international Antwan Russell could make his debut for England team Ilkeston tonight [Apr.4] after the Evo-Stik League Premier Division club received international clearance for the striker.

The “Derby Telegraph” reports that the 26-year-old is expected to go straight into manager Kevin Wilson’s squad for the an encounter against Buxton at the New Manor Ground this evening.

Mr. Russell flew in to watch Ilkeston’s 4-1 success over Worksop Town on Monday, accompanied by Bermuda Hogges coach and former professional footballer Kyle Lightbourne who is a former team-mate of Mr. Wilson’s from their days at Walsall.

Mr. Lightbourne also played for Premier League team Coventry City and Stoke City during the course of his UK career.

“Antwan has been with us now for a few days and got a chance to stretch his legs when the Academy lads all played for 30 minutes of a friendly game against Sheffield Hallam University,” Mr. Wilson told the “Derby Telegraph.”
