700+ Photos: Bermuda Day Half Marathon Derby
Almost 700 runners crossed the finish line in the 2013 Appelby Bermuda Half Marathon Derby, with the race seeing two new champions as Rose-Anna Hoey and Tyler Butterfield both claimed their first ever May 24th titles. Butterfield crossed the line in 1:15:03, while Hoey finished 9th overall in a time of 1:25:37.
Two new records were set, with 70-year-old Antun Duzevic’s time of setting a new record in the Veteran [over 70] category, while 72-year-old Margaret Burgess-Howie also recorded a record setting time in the female Veteran’s division.
As always, Bermudians lined the streets along the Somerset-to-Hamilton route, cheering the runners on as they made their way along the 13 miles to the Bernard Park finish line. For all our coverage of the Bermuda Day holiday click here, and for all our Bermuda Day photo galleries click here.
