Basketball: Panthers Defeat Outback Outlaws

May 23, 2013

In last night’s [May 22] only game in the Bermuda Basketball League, the Fort Knox Panthers defeated the Outback Outlaws, 52-41, handing the Outlaws their first loss of the season.

The Outlaws were led in scoring by player/coach Graham Robinson with 16 points, and Kevin Stephens [Panthers] led all scorers with 21 points.

The first half was a relatively low scoring affair with the Panthers leading 23-15. Both teams appeared to be feeling each other out and no one wanting to make the big mistake that would put their team out of the game.

The Outlaws made an early run in the second half cutting the Panther lead to 1, but they would get no closer as the Panthers were able to keep the score just out of reach for the remainder of the game.

With tonight’s Outlaw loss, the league standings has the top 3 teams all with 1 loss and the Panthers leading fractionally.
