Resurfacing Works: Kindley Field Rd Roundabout

May 6, 2013

The Ministry of Public Works advised that resurfacing works will be carried out on the Kindley Field Road roundabout near the L. F. Wade International Airport entrance.

The resurfacing works will take place between 6am and 11am on Tuesday 7th May and Wednesday 8th May, and during that time one lane of traffic will be open.

A spokesperson said, “These resurfacing works are intended to improve the skid resistance of the road surface on the roundabout. The work is being carried out at the times stated to avoid the peak traffic flow to the airport.

“During the resurfacing works one lane will remain open at all times under traffic control. This Ministry requests the cooperation of motorists so that these works can be carried out in a safe manner. The Ministry of Public Works apologizes for any inconvenience that these road works will have on their travel arrangements.

“If you have any concerns about this road resurfacing work, please contact the Ministry’s Construction and Maintenance Engineer, Mr. Curtis Charles at 297-7859.”

This is long overdue…. So glad they are doing this. A friend of mine skid out there a few weeks ago, and the car was damaged beyond repair. Thank you for looking into this, safer for all. Now lets work on Reid Street and town.

It’s great resurfacing the roundabout but, why not do jobs such as this late at night when there is minimum traffic on our roads and of course, there will be no flights…This will give the asphalt time to harden
