Body Found Floating In Water Off Agar’s Island
[Updated with video. At around 5.30pm a kayaker found a man's body floating in the waters off Agar’s Island near Two Rock Passage. The body is that of a white male around 60 years old.]
A man’s body was found in the water this evening [June 24] in the Two Rock Passage area, which is located in the general entrance area to Hamilton Harbour. [map]. The Police Marine Unit have responded to the scene and are in the process of bringing the body ashore.

Police Media Manager Dwayne Caines confirmed that a body was found on the southern side of Two Rock Passage. He said the body was that of a male, and said he will provide additional information in due course.
Update 7.12pm: The police said the lifeless body of a white male around 60 years old was recovered from the water after being spotted at approximately 5.30pm in the area of Two Rock Passage and Agars Island.
The body has been taken to KEMH where the identification process will commence. The police also extended their thanks to the boating public for their assistance.

Around 5:30pm on Monday, June 24th a kayaker came upon the lifeless body of a male floating in the waters off Agar’s Island near Two Rock Passage.
The deceased is believed to be a white male in his 60s. Marine police personnel responded to the scene to recover the body for transport to shore.
Death was certified at 7:03pm by an on call physician. The body was then transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where a formal identification process will take place.
Inquiries are ongoing; however no further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified.
Update June 15, 11.35am:The police officially identified the man as 79-year-old Dr. James Martin, a resident of Agar’s Island who was considered one of the world’s foremost computer scientists. Read the official statement here.
