Photos: Bermuda Win Two High Jump Medals

[Updated with photos] Bermuda’s high jumpers were in in top form this morning [July 15] picking up two medals in the Island Games competition being held at the National Stadium. Bermuda’s Jah-Nhai Perinchief won the gold medal, while Chas Smith claimed the bronze.

Perinchief struck a new personal best of 2.01m on his way to winning the gold medal, while Chas Smith recorded a top leap of 1.98m to take the bronze. Øssur Debes Eiriksfoss of the Faroe Islands took the silver.

The two jumpers took Bermuda’s medal tally to 9, adding to the 7 medals won by Bermuda’s athletes yesterday. Nicole Mitchell won gold in the women’s individual cycling road race, Karen Bordage won silver in the women’s individual cycling road race, the women’s cycling team won gold in the team event, and Laurie Orchard claimed bronze in the women’s triathlon.

In addition, the women’s triathlon team won silver in the team event, the women’s gymnastics team won silver in the team event and Bermuda picked up the silver in the 50m Prone Smallbore Rifle team event.
