Upcoming SharePoint And .Net Tech Conference
On Saturday, August 10, Bermuda SharePoint Users Group and the Bermuda .NET Users Group will co-host their first SharePoint and .NET conference to offer their technical community insights into the latest and greatest technical advancements at the Bermuda Insurance Institute from 8:30am to 6pm.
The event is planned as an educational, informative and lively day, filled with sessions from respected SharePoint and .NET professionals & MVPs [Microsoft Most Valuable Professional] from Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Romania and Bermuda. They will be covering a wide variety of topics focused on the SharePoint platform and .NET development as well as how business users and strategists should make use of these technologies.
Craig Lussier, the Event Chair and President of the Bermuda SharePoint Users Group, is excited by the speakers they’ve managed to secure, “We’ve had a great response from the speaker community and are delighted by who’s agreed to come to Bermuda and contribute. It was certainly made easier when Joel Oleson got on board; Joel’s considered one of the top, if not the top, SharePoint influencer globally. We have a great speaker line up and I encourageall technologists and interested members of the public to go to the website and check it out.

Michelle Crawford, the event’s Marketing Co-ordinator and administrator for the Bermuda .NET Users Group said, “In the spirit of community events, it was important to us that this event should be free. We therefore had to find a way to cover the costs of running the event from other sources and we’re very appreciative of the support we’ve had so far.”
A spokesperson said,”The sponsors currently include the Bermuda Insurance Institute, Nova, Microsoft, K2, Gateway Systems. MacroView, O’Reilly, PluralSight and Tokio Millennium Re. Space is limited at the event so the organising committee encourage people to sign up quickly.”
