The event organisers said, “Plough Weekend, named after the settlers’ ship that came to Bermuda in 1612 and established the town, will celebrate that St. George’s has been an historical, cultural, community and economic hub for 401 years!

“On Saturday, July 20, from 10am -6pm, you’ll be able to learn more about our town’s incredible four centuries with tours, lectures, films, scavenger hunts and reenactments. Visit the museums and galleries free of charge! Get your photo taken in period costume. Enjoy entertainment plus store and restaurant specials, demos, and samples. And you don’t want to miss the giant birthday cake.

“Then, on Sunday, July 21, worship at one of St. George’s churches and hear special sermons acknowledging St. George’s 401 years. The museums, galleries and many stores will be open on Sunday as well, and the Olde Towne Market will run from 2pm – 6pm with more special demos and tours.”
