Woman Denies Resisting Arrest & Threats
Appearing in Magistrates Court last week, Stephenie Blyden, 24, pleaded not guilty to resisting arrest, uttering threatening words to police, failing to stop for police, and making a false statement to police.
According to Crown Prosecutor Nicole Smith, Ms Blyden is alleged to have told the three arresting officers: “Wait ‘til I see you out of uniform. I’ll remember you.”
Still from the same incident in July 2013, Ms Blyden pleaded guilty to traffic charges including speeding, not having a drivers license for the cycle that she was riding and and riding an unlicensed cycle.
Senior Magistrate Archie Warner fined Ms Blyden a total of $1,150 on the traffic charges to which she had admitted guilt, and set trial for October and granted bail of $2,000 with one surety.
