For the first time, the Biennial will have a theme: View from the Edge. The island edge is at once limitless and limited. How do we transcend restriction or embrace limitation? In what ways are we both bounded and connected, living in confinement and paradise, experiencing insularity and resilience? The 2014 Biennial invites artists to address how the physical reality of an island informs one’s identity.
