“Rising From Ashes” Trailer:

In Rwanda, ‘the land of the thousand hills’, the bicycle is essential to everyday life. During the 1994 genocide, it is how some survived. Amidst the heartache and trauma, post-genocide, a committed group of young cyclists began importing racing bikes with the hope of resurrecting the sport.

In 2006, two worlds collided when American cycling legend Jock Boyer moved to Rwanda to help the country’s national cycling team in their attempt to qualify for the Olympic Games.

Star cyclist Adrien Niyonshuti lost 60 family members in the genocide. Setting out against seemingly impossible odds Jock, Adrien and the team find new purpose as they rise from the ashes of the past.

The film’s festival awards include wins at Aspen, Austin, Boulder, Denver, River Run, Napa Valley, Hamptons, Telluride, and The Bahamas, among others.

The Look of Love stars Coogan [The Trip, 24 Hour Party People] in the true-life story of Paul Raymond, the man behind Soho’s notorious Raymond Revue Bar and Men Only magazine.

“The Look Of Love” Trailer:

Raymond began his professional life with an end of the pier mind-reading act, but soon realised that the audience were more interested in watching his beautiful assistant. He quickly became one of Britain’s leading nude revue producers, and built an empire that led the Sunday Times in 1992 to crown him the richest man in Britain.

The film focuses on Raymond’s relationships with the three most important women in his life: his wife Jean [Anna Friel], his lover Fiona [Tamsin Egerton], and his daughter Debbie [Imogen Poots].

The ‘Weekend Film Series’, sponsored by Gosling’s, is a joint production of Bermuda Documentary Film Festival director Duncan Hall and the BUEI.
