BI Features Nine Must Do Bermudian Activities

September 16, 2013

Whether you’re a Bermudian looking to make the most of your island home, or you hail from somewhere else in the world but plan to visit Bermuda, either on business or simply for pleasure, popular magazine Business Insider has published a piece that aims to help you to make the very most of your stay.

Dubbed 9 Activities You Must Do On Your Next Bermuda Getaway, the Business Insider piece takes a look at nine of the island’s most wondrous haunts and opportunities for fun and relaxation, with coverage ranging from the retail therapy available in the heart of Hamilton to the beautiful pink sand of the beach at Horseshoe Bay.

Here are a look at three of the more abstract suggestions from Business Insider’s list:

1. Eat breakfast while staring at the water. Ideally from a balcony. Most hotels in Bermuda have water views — and it’s worth paying extra to wake up to them.

Business Insider is definitely right on this point; there can be no denying Bermuda’s ocean views, and there is simply nothing like starting your day with a view of the island’s scenery. Whether you’re here for fun and relaxation, or your breakfast is a prelude to a busy day of wheeling and dealing, you’ll not find a better way to charge your batteries and relax your mind then casting your gaze at a beautiful sunrise over a plate of Bermudian food.

2. Sip on a rum swizzle — Bermuda’s signature drink — at its birthplace: the Swizzle Inn.

With breakfast out of the way (and preferably at least a few hours in between!), Business Insider suggests that you make your way to the Swizzle Inn in order to take in a rum swizzle, the island’s signature drink. With two locations to choose from, one in the heart of Bailey’s Bay and another on the South Shore, there is a rum swizzle with your name on it nearby no matter where on the island you happen to be.

3. Watch the sunset over the water from anywhere on the island.

Just as there’s no better way to begin your day than by taking in a beautiful Bermudian sunrise, much of the same applies when it comes to ending your day. Watching the sunset as it dips below the horizon over the ocean is a breathtaking experience whether you’ve seen it once or a thousand times, making a late evening stroll on the beach a necessity for anyone who has only limited time on the island. You’ll never forget the sight, believe us, and the travel experts at Business Insider obviously know it.
