Mechanical Issues Cause Bus Service Delays
The Department of Public Transportation [DPT] advised that the public can anticipate some delays in bus service today [Sept 12] due to the fact that some vehicles in the fleet are experiencing mechanical issues as a result of the inclement weather.
“The DPT is working to resolve the issues as quickly as possible and apologises in advance for any inconvenience caused to the travelling public”, a spokesperson said.
As an added note, the DPT reminded that the ticket office at the Central Bus Terminal in Hamilton remains closed until further notice due to unpleasant fumes. The ticket booth will re-open once the matter has been rectified.
Bus service will continue to operate out of the Central Terminal as normal, however anyone in the immediate area in need of passes, tickets or tokens should obtain them from the General Post Office or the ferry terminal on Front Street.
what wether? lame excuse essp. that today is much better than yesterday. ptb come on and think of a better excuse cause the one you’re using now is damn lame.

Please can Bernews find out what services will be delayed so as the public can take alternative transport, and or are not left stranded.
What are these fumes too, sewage, exhaust or something else ? we the public have a right to know exactly why a service has been stopped.

Whatever they say doesn’t surprise me any more. The lame excuses etc. Every day Bermuda is becoming the laughing stoxk to the world with news going viral our incompetence is put out there for the whole world to see. When if ever are we gonna get our act together? It’s embarrassing.

Well they can’t just lay down the tools and walk off from the job without justification, so this is POSSIBLY a ploy influenced by non other than the B.I.U. and their associates in green (from off the block?)
I bet if gov were to bring in foreign workers to stay on top of the workload there would be an uproar…
Yep, as expected. Once school went in and the cruise ships are in port, we’ll have issues with the transportation system. Too bad we cant rent buses and drivers from overseas to help with the shortfall.
Oh and shut down the ticket booth and replace them girls with machines that work 24/7 without giving any lip.
@ RawOnion – I know I am a bit of topic but since you mentioned lip, I am still mortified from a bus ride home from work yesterday where the female bus diver on the bus heading from Hamilton to St. David’s was nothing short of rude and insulting to the passengers for my whole ride from Hamilton to the where I got off in Devonshire. She shouted at the people to “go all the way up the back what’s your problem you can’t see that its space up there? Move back, move are you glued to the floor!” By the time we reached Blackwatch Pass she started driving at a crawl and threatened if anybody said anything she would park the bus. A student commented “this is scary” others said “and we wonder why the youth are like they are”. This was a bus full of quiet adults and a handful of school children just trying to get home after 5 and this is what we had to pay for. The insults continued like I said until I got off about 7 miles from Hamilton. All I need to do is find out who I make a complaint to she didn’t have her name displayed for a reason. SMH
Next time use your cell phone and record what is happening and send it to the director of DPT, the Minister of Transport and cc it to the BIU.
