Snooker: Bermuda Select Go Down To Canada

A group of International Snooker League players from Canada were on the island to watch the 2013 PGA Grand Slam of Golf, and while visiting they took the opportunity to match up against a Bermuda Select team at the Warwick Workman’s Club.

Billed as the “Bermuda Canada Shootout.” the content saw Canada emerge victorious 17 – 10.

Chatham House sponsored the Bermuda team that was made up of Aaron Bean, Karl Wilson, Steven Bremar and Timmy Sousa, while Cliff Penner, Tim Rodenbush, Rick Mackenzie and Larry McDonald made up the Canada team.

Bermuda went in front 2 – 0 in the first match as Bremar defeated Rodenbush, things were even at 2 – 2 after Mackenzie defeated Sousa 2 – 0.

Penner defeated Bean 2 – 0 as Canada took a 4 – 2 lead, before Wilson and McDonald split their game making the score Canada 5 – Bermuda 3.

Mackenzie defeated Bean 2 – 0, to make it 7 – 3, but Bremar defeated Penner 2 – 0 to cut the lead to 7 – 5. Bean picked up a point when he spilt his match with McDonald and when Mackinzie defeated Wilson 2 – 0 the score moved to 10 – 6.

Bremar won his third match of the night when he defeated McDonald 2 – 0 to make the score 10 – 8, but Penner restored the four point lead when he defeated Sousa 2 – 0 making the score 12 – 8.

Rodenbush defeated Wilson 2 – 0 as Canada’s lead moved to 14 – 8, Bremar then spilt his match with Mackenzie making it 15 – 9 and then Sousa split with McDonald making it 16 – 10, Penner defeated Wilson in their first game to end the match as a contest winning 17 – 10.
