The 2014 Cruise Ship Schedule has been released by the Department of Marine and Ports Services with 131 total cruise ship visits anticipated for the upcoming year.

Looking good thus far – to bad the Hotels or the Airlines can’t make a prediction like this.

    131 cruise ship visits -
    3000 passengers on average x 131 ships = 393,000 visitors on average – = 90 million dollars
now add the remaining 300,000 visitors coming by air [ we hope ] the grand average total would be 200 million.
we could have been sitting pretty – to bad we have this big national debt to pay of.- [ gee' thanks Dr.Brown ]
[lol] we better hope the Cruise Ships keep coming here – if not were dead in the water.

When the PLP was in power the critics said that there was too much dependence on cruise ship passengers. My personal opinion is that any visitor is better than no visitor. But i wonder why the OBA doesn’t get the same flack for their reliance on cruise ship visitors. In all honesty, we can benefit from both air and cruise ship visitors as there is a market for both.

    • Um Um Like says:

Perhaps because the OBA didn’t built a disfunctional multi-million dollar friends & family dock for the cruise ships!

    • Hmmmmmm says:

We just recently read a report on increased air arrivals.

    • Micro says:

Not like we can afford not to attract more cruise lines to send ships here. Airlines don’t want to fly, we already pay several airlines to fly here. There’s not much to interest people to fly here.

How many came last year just wondering if it’s an increase or not

  5. somuchless says:

the wind star is on the list but from my understanding it is not visiting so someone needs to look into that.

  6. X man says:

If we had the St.Georges Town cut widend/dredged we could have seen almost 160 Cruise Ship visits.
so what’s the hold up – on third of Kenny Bascombs vote’s came from this promise – let’s get on with it.

  7. Darlene Fortin says:

Most cruise ships are booked 2 years in Advance… so there should be more in the 2015 schedule as i read that Holland America is coming back to Bermuda
