Australia Win World Rugby Classic Plate Final

Australia are the 2013 Bermuda World Rugby Classic Plate Final champions, following their 36-21 defeat of Canada last night [Nov 16].

Andrew Walker scored a Try in the 8th minute and when Gavin DeBartolo kicked the Conversion it gave Australia a 7 – 0 lead, in the 19th minute Australia went over for a Try to increase their lead as Ben Sangrove went in untouched to make the score 12 – 0. William Johnson scored a Try in the 26th minute to put Australia ahead 17 – 0.

In the second half, Dick Standard pushed Australia further ahead when he went over for a Try making the score 22 – 0. Minutes later Canada gave the crowd something to cheer about when Dan Harlow went over for a Try and when Derek Daypuck kicked the Conversion it made the score 22-7.

Australia responded within a minute when Steve Kefu scored a Try and Daniel Nethery kicked the Conversion to make the score 29 – 7. Daypuck scored a Try for Canada and he also kicked the Conversion to make it 29 – 14, however Australia once again responded when Andrew Walker scored a Try and he kicked the Conversion to make the score 36 – 14. Aaron Mittler scored a Try for Canada when time expired and Daypuck kicked the Conversion to make the final score Australia 36 – Canada 21.
