Min. Dunkley Receives Poppy From War Veteran
On Wednesday [Nov 6] the Minister of Public Safety Michael Dunkley supported the efforts of the Bermuda Regiment’s Remembrance Day Tag event.
Minister Dunkley is pictured receiving a poppy from Ms. Betty Vincent, an 87 year old WW2 veteran, who served in the WRNS at HMS Victory in Portsmouth.
After the war, Ms. Vincent held a number of administrative jobs in Bermuda, including manager of the Rosedon Hotel. She now works part-time on the staff of the Anglican Cathedral.
During the Remembrance Day Parade, which will be held next Monday, Ms. Vincent will be marching with the WW2 veterans and laying a wreath at the Cenotaph on behalf of the veteran widows.
