Two Males Convicted Of Trespassing Into Prison

November 28, 2013

In Magistrates Court yesterday [Nov 27], Chesterfield Johnson and teenager Tyler Christopher were both convicted of trespassing into Westgate prison.

Senior Magistrate Archie Warner noted that both men had been in police custody since 19th November and sentenced both to time already spent in custody.

The pair had previously appeared in Court, where they admitted trespassing inside Westgate around 11am on 19th November saying they were looking for sand.

They said they have driven a boat from Riddell’s Bay, gone to the beach on the west side of Westgate to get sand to make ‘chum’ for a fishing trip. Johnson admitted being the boat driver but said that he did not know that the area chosen for collecting the sand was out of bounds

According to the Prosecutor during their last appearance, the boat had been observed approaching the area; prison staff with a K-9 unit had responded; Christopher was seen to run off and re-board the boat, which was kept under observation with the Marine Police eventually catching the boat off Morgan’s Point.

    IMO Chesterfield Johnson should never have seen the light of day, and should still be IN prison for the heinous crimes committed on innocent school girls.

    Instead, he’s out enjoying his life “fishing” while his victim never got the chance to live and probably would have been a wife and mother today.

    What’s he doing hanging with a 17 year old anyway? Grooming him to follow in his footsteps? Just the sight of this guy makes me want to vomit.

    To those people that take offence (you know who you are), or don’t want to “go there” he was CONVICTED. I am well within my rights to be disgusted with a CONVICTED child rapist.

    Chesterfield Johnson spent all those years in prison for murder and doesnt know you can’t come anywhere near the prison?! Yeah, sure! Give me a break!

  3. sage says:

    His picture should be published for those who don’t know since he seems to be begging to go back inside.

    11 am on November 19th? My calendar says that was a Tuesday. Why was this 17 year old with a creep instead of in school?

    VJ I agree with you apart from the ‘in prison part’… He shouldn’t be able to see the light of day – at all! The fact that this convicted child rapist and murderer still can walk around and hold his head up is a disgrace. Only because the victim’s family no longer resides in Bermuda has he been allowed to do this.

      @TY.
      He was originally sentenced to death, which was commuted to “life” in prison on appeal. I agree 100% with you, but my comments were based on the fact that since they didn’t put him to death, then life in prison should have been exactly that- LIFE.

    I wonder why the folks at that other place abruptly closed down their comments thread the minute the murder was mentioned???

    This is a part of Bermuda’s history, and what is the shame in talking about it? Some people are so sensitive, and want to shy away from anything remotely unpleasant but it is a part of a thing called life. He is a convicted child killer, it is a matter of public record and people are naturally going to discuss this.
