Berkeley Institute Students Create Virtual Tour
On Wednesday, December 11, a group of Berkeley students attended the annual PartnerRe ‘Dollars for Hours’ presentation at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI]. This event allows students from schools all over Bermuda to showcase the products that they’ve developed when partnered with local businesses.
The program was implemented eight years ago in order to link students to the community around them by assigning each of them a business or organization to work with, resulting in unique projects from every student involved.
Each school had their own table at the event to display the project that they had put many hours into. Some of these displays included bird boxes, therapy posters for the residents at the Westmeath Home, and the results of organizing the Red Cross’ thrift shop.

Berkeley was linked with the BIOS station and worked to create a virtual tour of their facilities to be used on their website. The school’s display was a product of many hands working in tandem, with a beautiful wooden exhibit housing the finished video footage and several photos representing the expedition. Berkeley pride was apparent in the memorabilia that adorned the shelves.
The scriptwriters for Berkeley’s video project included Ayana Ming-Bean and Nari Williams, with Kinye Watson as the script editor, while the photographers were Danielle Clark and Seta Douglas. The videographer and editor was Marquedelle Rodriguez, with Ciboney Swan as the featured voice actor.
The lovely display was designed and constructed by Damien Campbell, Zavanté Garnett, and Lamar Samuels.
