Christmas Holiday Garbage Collection Dates
[Updated] The Department of Waste Management advised that due to the Christmas Holiday all West End garbage will be collected on Monday, December 23rd and Saturday, December 28th.
A spokesperson said, “East End garbage will be collected on Tuesday December 24th and Friday December 29th.
“West End recycling will be collected on Saturday, December 28th and East End recycling will be collected on Friday, December 27th.”
The spokesperson continued, “West End garbage will be collected on Monday, December 30th and Thursday, January 2nd, 2014. East End garbage will be collected on Tuesday, December 31st and Friday January 3rd, 2014.
“West End recycling will be collected on Thursday, January 9th, 2014 and East End recycling will be collected on Friday, January 10th 2014.
“The Department of Waste Management strongly urges residents to comply with the holiday garbage and recycle collection schedules.”
Update 4.06pm: As noted by a reader, the Government’s dates conflict…there is no such date as Friday December 29th 2013. We are trying to confirm the correct date and will update as able with the Ministry’s response.
Update 4.39pm: The Ministry confirms the correct date is Friday December 27th

Hi East End guys, please note above article states our garbage will be collected Friday, December 29th. Problem is that December 29th is a Sunday. If garbage to be collected on a Friday I think that someone meant to write “Friday December 27th”. I see article does note East End recycles will be collected on Friday 27th December . I mention the incorrect date for the late December collection as I would not like fellow East Enders to miss the first after Christmas collection.
