Slideshow: St. David’s Pole Fire Extinguished
[Updated] The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a pole fire located on Battery Road in St David’s at approximately 2pm today [Dec28].
Police were on scene diverting traffic away from the area while BELCO personal attended, shutting power off to the affected pole allowing the fire to be extinguished. The pole’s top crossbar was seen dangling from the pole top with some flames visible in one area. Traffic flow on Battery Road was restricted while the situation was dealt with.
Update 7.23pm: A BELCO spokesperson said there was an aerial cable tracking fault which burnt the cross arm. 48 customers were affected and crews are working on repairs to the cross arm and cable.

If memory serves me correct, there was a dedicated power station in St.David’s.
